Trey came to Diamond Brand Gear with over ten years of purchasing and warehouse management experience. Previously, he spent two years with North American Roofing as their Procurement and Logistics Manager ensuring large commercial roofing projects had the necessary materials and tools to complete their jobs on time and under budget. Prior to North American Roofing, Trey worked for seven years with Phenix Research Products as their National Operations Manager where he managed a purchasing department and warehouse that served the DNA/ life science research laboratories found across the country. Trey has a bachelor’s degree in biology from University of Memphis and is also certified as an instructor. He and his wife have lived in Asheville for ten years and have a son. Trey enjoys reading, live music, and traveling with the family.
Lisa joined the Diamond Brand team in 2006 after spending a year in Fairbanks, Alaska working on a Department of Defense development project. Prior to that, Lisa enjoyed the wide open spaces in and around Bozeman, Montana while working at Dana Design and Mystery Ranch; both are backpack companies. Lisa has worked in Product Development since 1990. She has filled many roles since joining Diamond Brand including Line Supervisor and Assistant Plant Manager. She has designed packs and bags along with protective covers for several of our customers. Lisa has great passion for Polar Bears and the Far North. Lisa enjoys ocean kayaking and hiking as well as reading a good book.
Lauren serves as Vice President of Operations and oversees manufacturing planning, product design, quality and operations. Lauren came to Diamond Brand Gear after spending five years at GE Aviation, where she was the plant’s Lean Six Sigma leader and strategic growth coordinator, servicing two Aviation value streams for the Asheville plant. Before GE, Lauren owned her own design consulting company, Designs and Drafting, designing and making manufacturing drawings for industries including furniture, lighting, archery equipment, transducers, and more. Lauren is native to North Carolina and received a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University’s School of Design in 2000. She and her husband have lived in Western North Carolina for ten years and have a son. She enjoys hiking, reading and dabbling in fine art creations.
As Chief Executive Officer, John provides overall strategic direction to the company. John moved to Asheville, North Carolina and joined Diamond Brand, Diamond Brand Gear's predecessor company, as a partner and CFO in 2005. Before moving to Asheville, John lived in Charlotte, North Carolina where he was the Chief Financial Officer of Edgeview Partners, an investment banking firm. Prior to joining Edgeview, he co-founded a real estate brokerage firm (My Townhome), partnered in a private equity group (Core Point Partners), financed the development of condominiums and townhomes (The Boulevard Company), and traded currency options and derivatives (First Union National Bank). Prior to moving to Charlotte in 1994, John lived in Chicago, Illinois where he met his wife. They have two children. John earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in 1989 and a master's degree in business administration from The University of Chicago in 1992. John was born in St. Louis, Missouri (he is still a St. Louis Cardinals fan) and enjoys playing golf and skiing.
Diamond Brand Gear is always looking for sewing machine operators with experience running several different types of industrial sewing machines with enthusiasm. We embrace lean manufacturing and flowing product, so every day is different and sewing various types of goods is the way of life. We are a small business that values our employees opinions, suggestions and expertise in making our product and environment better in safety, quality and delivery.
