Cat Tent ‘ Up-Cycled Blue Canvas Pet Tent ‘ Miniature Wall Tent ‘ Cat Bed ‘ Made in USA
The Moonrise Project puts the sustainability message of Diamond Brand Gear into action. The fabric for our American Boro and Rescue series was originally destined for the landfill before we found it and re-purposed it into something new and beautiful!
One of our Moonrise Project craftspeople came up with the idea to make scaled down versions of the DBG wall tents using our scrap fabrics. She drafted the pattern and made the prototype herself, and her cats even volunteered to help test the prototype out. We liked the first one so much that we are offering a limited run of these Cat Tents (though small dogs may enjoy them too!) while supplies last.
Each miniature wall tent features a soft but sturdy insulated interior that supports the up-cycled shell material and keeps kitties cozy, and each mini wall tent comes with a small, removable cushion that has fleece on one side and water-resistant aircraft cover material on the other. As with all Moonrise Project items, each piece is made entirely from up-cycled, scrap, and re-purposed materials leftover from the Diamond Brand Gear manufacturing facility.
Tent will be shipped flat, but it’s pretty easy to set up – just hold the soft frame with the seam side facing up and insert it inside the shell. You may need to squish it a little bit, but it’ll fit. Then slide in the pillow.
This little tent is not intended for outside use
When Diamond Brand Gear first came to the heart of the Smokey Mountains, sewing and craft were a dominant aspect of daily life in Asheville. We got our start in a small, defunct hosiery mill that quickly turned into a thriving factory. When the textile industry began to offshore their facilities, we made it our mission to revive the art of sewing and keep production in the USA. We are committed to the preservation of craftsmanship, the formation of a greener economy, and the creation of durable goods that enhance the experience of all adventurers. Thus the Moonrise Project was born to help elevate our scraps and help the world through Reclaiming, Reusing, and Recreating.
